Dear reader,
It was a while since my last post. I was abroad meeting nice (and not nice) people. Now I am back trying to shovel the mountain of routines. So I am quite busy these days and my nearest posts will be mostly citrates from other blogs and forums. Some of articles and news are not so new. Please forgive me if you already read it somewhere else.
Securiteam about Google calendar helping to find username behind Gmail address
Nice and easy way to know what is the real name of your Google mail addressee. This weakness was reported to Google long ago. But it looks like they really do not know what privacy means. Maybe they ignore this problem because there are much more serious issues that we are not yet aware about?
Bruce Schneier writes about one more serious loss of personal records.
“The UK is learning:
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed today that a package containing contact information from its Paisley Emergency Medical Dispatch Centre (EMDC) has been lost by the courier, TNT, while in transit to one of its IT suppliers.”
This time it is not quite same thing I wrote recently. This time the HDD was encrypted. Cool, they are really learning.
Noah Shachtman wrote about the National Security Analysis Center project.
The eyes of big brother are closer, the ears of big brother are bigger, and teeth of big brother are getting tight on your throat. Sometimes it is uncomfortable feeling yourself a “Little Red Riding Hood” speaking to big bad wolf.
Washington Post’s article on terrorists going hi-tech. US, Israel and the rest of civilized world are losing the battle at their own field.
If you ask me what do I prefer – less privacy or less security, I will surprisingly lean towards security. Let them watch me, let them hear me but let them keep me alive.
Rather old article by Jeff Atwood - few tips on keeping and making passwords in a right way. Worth reading.

Sorry for short post. I hope I will have enough time for writing soon

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
It depends on the region. In USA it will end before December, in Europe next year… In Russia it will take more than 2 years to restore economics and in China it will moderate and will end before 2010.
